I’ve had a very good experience at this care home. The staff treat me kindly, respond when I need help, and make sure I feel safe in my room. The physical therapy team is excellent — patient, encouraging, and focused on helping me get stronger without pushing me too hard. It’s a calm, clean place, and I feel respected here. After being in other facilities, I can honestly say this one stands out for the way they treat residents and support recovery.

This is my second time here at THE PINES. The staff here from the Administrators to the CNA’S are very attentive and met my needs and concerns professionally and respectfully as well. The wound care team is amazing!!! The Physical Therapy team is one of the reasons that I came back here again. And I healed so quickly here!!

The staff at the Pines was great. From the admins, the rehab team and to the nurses, everyone helped my father in his final years. I thank them all and I would absolutely recommend them.

I have lived at the Pines several months. The entire staff, from nurses to janitors has been nothing but kind and courteous. They help, care and laugh with you. If you need medical care I would highly recommend it. And especially Richard, he always makes sure there is an activity for you to attend. No mater wheel chair or walking, you are welcome.

When visiting my mother, it was an easy check-in to confirm it was me visiting, and I wasn’t sick. All the staff was really friendly and the patients or residence that was living there. They seem to be happy and well taken care of. the place was very clean the housekeeping staff was very nice along with the nurses and attendants.

this place is horrible for both the staff and the patients. staff are mean toward each other and make fun of their own, and patients suffer because of it. only a few workers here are actually caring about their patients and are good at their job.

Wish it was under different circumstances. But The Pines is great! Really nice nurses, doctors and other professionals. Everyone I’ve met has been very supportive and helpful. It’s clean, smells good and the food is good, not great, but good.

Everyone was pleasant, kind, and helpful. I appreciated the personal check by the director (although she never introduced her role). The place was clean, did not smell of urine or bedsores, which as a nurse, I always look for as an indicator of how well they take care of patients. It was clean everywhere and had a nice veranda as a view. The staff intersected with each other well, telling me the staffing ratio was good because the team was not stressed and snippy. I am not concerned about the quality of his care at the Pines.

I just spent 80 days in this facility and am very glad and grateful I was there! What a fantastic nursing staff. There’s a few nurses that went above and beyond in my care. Colleen, Karen and Mi really became friends. All 3 helped advocate for me in both my pharmaceutical treatment and my psychological (my anxiety went to an all time high) treatment. Thank you. These women deserve raises. It was certainly difficult to say goodbye to these outstanding nurses. They also have a great CNA staff, who are stretched thinly Now a HUGE shout-out to the physical therapy staff!!! I had 2 staff members that I worked closely with in my rehabilitation, Aurelia and Yulia were both stern and very caring. Both willing to go outside their scope to help me. I can’t say enough good things about these ladies. I was VERY lucky to have them. Thank you. They were backed up by head of staff Abraham, who runs a great staff. Administrative members, Colby and Summer were also fantastic to work with. Sometimes making me feel like I was the only patient in the place. A special shout-out to T.J. the in-house driver. He safely got me to and from all of my doctors appointments. And we had some pretty good conversations. Thanks T.J. The only dim spot in my stay was the food. I know institutional food service is difficult at best, but there could be improvement here. If you have food allergies or things that you don’t/won’t eat keep a close eye on your tray. All in all my stay was fantastic! Should I need something like this again, I will certainly be back!!

My mom is dying from Glioblastoma brain cancer-doctors dont know when she will go, but she wanted to do radiation and chemo. With her decline in physical and mental capabilities and being on Medicare, we admitted her to The Pines in Placerville. Overall, our experience with them has no complaints. Initially, she wasn’t very happy to be there because of the differences compared to her private room at the hospital. However, I cannot fault The Pines for that, especially with how the staff treated her and our family. I have worked in a couple dozen nursing homes of various skill and funding levels; all over California and a few in Nevada. I knew what to expect from a place that we weren’t paying thousands of dollars a month out of pocket for. I too, was nervous the first night she was transferred there. It can be loud; and there’s alot of activity and my mom felt at times she wasn’t receiving “service” as promptly as she would’ve liked. With that said, I very quickly began to know the staff personally and they were all friendly, professional and accommodating. It’s very busy there-there is alot of residents and patients who were more worse off in ways than my mother and were far more demanding and not nice about it. The stress on the staff is alot. Yet, overall they handle it like pros. My mother was there just under two weeks before she unfortunately had to go back to the hospital and will probably not leave it alive. While she cannot personally express her feelings about The Pines, I spent everyday there, many times for most of the day and at all different times so I can speak from first hand experience: I know the reviews from others and the reputation this place has. The Director, Colby, you can tell is working very hard to turn that reputation around. The staff works very hard and I pray for their continued strength and determination in what they are doing because it is not an easy job and at times-maybe many times-seems thankless and unrewarding. Just know that for this family, you took an already difficult and emotional period of our lives and were able to ease this portion and truly give help when it was desperately needed. Special shout outs to Amy, Mikala, Colleen, Mai, Abraham, Maura, Michelle, Kelsey, Britni, Bill, Christina, Stephen, Samantha and so many more there that I can’t remember your name or didn’t catch it when we met: I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you did for my mother. If she was capable of it, I know she would personally express how thankful and appreciative she was for your care, concern and dignity during this very difficult time of her life.

Always short-handed. Food was terrible & portions keep getting smaller, 1 egg & half a piece of toast. Environment wasn’t conducive to post-surgery healing due volatile patients.

I only have good things to say about this skilled nursing facility. This has become the premier teaching institution of the region and has contributed greatly to my education. All of the staff here made me feel welcome as a student physical therapist for my clinical rotation. Dr. Abraham was my APTA credentialed clinical instructor and has implemented a teaching program here for other doctoral students. I learned more at this rotation than had at my previous two and I feel well prepared to graduate and start treating patients as a Clinician. Dr. Abraham not only challenged me each day to learn as much as I can but also increased my confidence with in my self. Any student is lucky to have him as a clinical instructor.

These nurses here have no compassion or morals. They treat their patients with no respect and neglect them. Someone needs to come into this facility and make a complete investigation on the staff and how they treat the elderly and all the other patients. This is outrageous and sad! No one should ever be treated this way. And no one should take their families here.
